Power pain for Tatura for fifth day straight

By Morgan Dyer

Tatura residents woke up frustrated again this morning, as more than 1400 homes were without power for the fifth day in a row.

A spokesperson for Powercor Australia said the repeated outages were unusual.

“We have been doing patrols of the lines to investigate and understand why this is continuing to happen,” the spokesperson said.

“We believe we have found the issue this morning, but we are just trying to confirm at the moment that is the exact cause."

The outage occurred at 5.20am today, with the majority of power returning by 7am.

Tatura residents should feel at ease going into the long weekend, as Powercor does not expect the outage to happen again.
